Frequently Asked Questions
Bodor engineers explain machine configurations, assist gas consumption, maintenance schedules, and commissioning.
01.What is the difference between major Bodor series (A, C, SC, P, X)?
• A Series — classic single-table open machines. Optimal for versatile jobs and smaller fabrication shops.
• C Series — full protective enclosure and automatic shuttle table exchange (two pallets in 10–15 s) for safe batch cutting.
• SC Series — next-generation high-speed enclosed systems with 10-second pallet exchange and reinforced bed.
• P Series — heavy-duty industrial flagship with up to 4G gantry acceleration for 24/7 non-stop workloads.
• X Series — ultra-high power systems (up to 60 kW) designed for thick plate processing and peak productivity.
02.What assist gases are used in fiber laser cutting?
For carbon (mild) steel, Oxygen (O2) is used to maintain exothermic combustion, or high-pressure dry air at 16+ bar. For stainless steel, aluminum, and copper alloys, Nitrogen (N2) with 99.99%+ purity is used, producing a bright, dross-free edge without oxide scale.
03.What warranty terms apply to Bodor machines in Ukraine?
All laser systems include an official 3-year warranty with full field engineering support. Proprietary BodorPower laser sources qualify for an extended 5-year warranty under scheduled certified maintenance. Our Ukrainian team provides certified commissioning, operator training, and fast component replacement from a local warehouse.
04.What are the advantages of dedicated Bodor tube cutters?
A dedicated tube laser combines cut-to-length sizing, complex hole cutting, beveling, and interlocking joints into a single setup without wall deformation. High chuck speeds (up to 200 RPM on K-series) and near-zero tail waste minimize component production costs.
05.How does BodorWelder handheld laser welding outperform MIG/TIG?
Welding speed is 4–10 times higher, heat-affected zone is minimal (preventing thermal distortion), and welds need no post-grinding. The BodorWelder Air model uses direct air cooling without a liquid chiller and operates smoothly between -20°C and +40°C from standard mains.
06.What are the workshop electrical and foundation requirements?
A 3-phase 380V ± 10%, 50 Hz power supply with ground resistance below 4 Ohms is required. For sources of 6 kW and above, a dedicated voltage stabilizer is recommended. The floor must have a reinforced concrete slab of 150–200 mm isolated from shock-vibrating stamping equipment.
